Vintage B Altman Cape & Dress Set Yellow & Blue

Amazing vintage! Cape with a matching dress, most likely from the 1960s - 1970s. Based on the garment construction, this may have come as a pattern and fabric from B Altman that someone sewed at home. The cape has a more professional look, but the interior seaming of the dress leads me to believe at least that was a well down home sewing project. The dress doesn't have any commercial tags, and neither have material tags. My guess is wool blend for the cape and the skirt of the dress, and polyester for the dress top and cape lining. Cape is amazing, with arm slits, open construction with a wide collar and three buttons at the neck. The dress is also collared, long sleeved, ribbed top & a-line skirt. Attached side-closure belt matches the closure detail of the cape. Skirt is pleated. Cape turns the striped fabric on a diagonal while skirt features it straight. Navy and white herringbone paired with bright yellow! If you're looking for a halloween costume (Morton Salt girl, Sherlock Homes?), a costume for a period piece tv show, movie or theater production, 1960s 1970s street fashion or just love wearing amazing vintage, this outfit is for you. I am listing this outfit as a size S/M but please look at measurements. Cape should fit up to a size large, but the dress has a smaller bust and hips, hence the smaller overall sizing for the outfit. Some light discoloration and spots on dress, cape is in excellent pre-loved condition.
