Vintage Cloisonné Cobalt Blue + Gold Lotus Flower Bangle Bracelets

Gorgeous vintage Chinese cloisonné enamel bangle bracelet, likely dating back to the 1930s/1940s. It features a cobalt blue background with red lotus flower design. The name "cloisonné" comes from the French word for "enclosed." Like tiny stained glass windows, the various colors of enamel are separated by bits of metal. Stunning gold wire-work, or cloisonné, which has some natural variation, suggesting these beauties were hand crafted rather than machine made. The interior is also the same cobalt blue enamel with the classic vent holes with flower stamps, necessary to facilitate the firing process, and one of the telltale signs of an older handcrafted piece. The metal base of the bracelet is likely brass with a gilt overlay on the exposed brass bands, found on the top and bottom. This impressive treasure has an interior diameter of 2 5/8" and will fir the average sized wrist. It's 3/4" wide and is in excellent condition - no chips or cracks. Exquisite craftsmanship!
