Vintage Goebel Bluebird CV 72 Hand Painted High Gloss West Germany 1970s

A wonderful example of Goebel's "Baseless Birds" w/the trademark realistic sculpt enhanced w/a bit of whimsy in the fluffy looking breast feathers & strikingly brilliant color. The high gloss glaze accentuates the vivid hues & adds a life-like shininess & glint to the eyes. The incised CV 72 mark is believed to identify the mold. Not sure if 72 indicates year or not-believed to date from 1972-79 (definitely pre-1990). The excellent condition after so many decades is a testament to it's maker & shows the care given by the previous owner.
