Vintage 1950s Wicker and Leather Satchel Dr Bag Picnic Basket Top Handle Handbag

This is an absolutely gorgeous wicker basket purse from the '50s. It is made from a combination of coated wicker with leather straps, hinges, and closure with brass hardware and little brass feet. The inside is lined with a tan patterned cotton of vintage car brands (Jaguar, Citroen, Volkswagen, Fiat, etc...). The handle is a single leather dr. bag style strap. The closure is fold over style. The leather forms a little top which fits like a lid and is fastened by a fold over clasp. The top is decorated with little buckles. Made in Hong Kong. The bag is in good vintage condition. There are some spots of damage commiserate with it's age. The underside of the lid has a piece that is bent back, one of the pieces of wicker is broken on the bottom corner, and there is some minor wear to the lining. measurements width at top 10" width at bottom 14" height 10" depth 4" 3.5" strap drop
