Antique Depression Era Thunderbird choker or child’s necklace. From the 1940’s. 15” long end to end. Strung on cord with hook and eye silver closure. During the depression era 1930s and part of 40’s It was hard for Native American jewelry makers to purchase authentic jet and other materials so Mosaic artists began using other materials including LP records and battery casings. This innovation became a tradition and is now collected for its historic value and beauty. This piece was purchased by my mother in the early 40’s, gently worn and in great pre worn condition.
