@shadow_wings it does have the crescent shape of a bone dish but because of the "scalloped" edges it would not sit flush to the dinner plate. My grandmother used these for pickle slices snd candy if I remember correctly. I was too young to sit at the grown up table 😊

@myfurryfamily the scalloped edge interferes with place setting ???? I suppose only super fancy dishes back than had scalloped edge ,I wonder if only certain sets had these bones dishes or what ?!! I recently learned about such a thing never knew about this ,which is odd lol that I never even heard the term

@rlee73 Heehee me either. These were my Grandmother's & I never saw her use them (that I remember). Someone on Posh had to teach me what they were called. I think they kind of fit under the plate so you could slide fish, beef bones, fat, whatever over to them and keep your plate neat and clean (?) Also served salad so separated from your hot food. Now you know everything!!

@myfurryfamily I've heard of salad plates that were round or even idd shaped like plate but never the bone dish lol scary when you think about even how food and utensils have evolved everybody's eating fast food half the time nobody needs a salad plate smh 🤣🤣🤣 deliver it in the salad rolled right up into the thing with the meat and everything all included out of a window that they drive up to

I think I find some neat things (& family & friends give me stuff to sell 😜) Economy’s been rough especially in CA. Oh well hoping for the best w/Christmas coming.
