Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 37 aviator sunglasses feature the rare purple - burgundy frame along with rose lenses. Porsche Design frame produced in only very small quantities and almost all as a special order to Carrera from higher end optical shops in the late 1980s. The unisex Porsche Carrera 5621 37 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.875" x 2.375" at the widest points with left lenses laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one ear stem is marked Made in Austria 5621 37 135 along with the impressed serial number while the inside of the other stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the US patent number. Designed to allow interchangeable lenses - the nose piece can be raised to change lenses. I do not have the other lenses or the original case. Rare. Some of the purple/burgundy color has worn off the left side of the nose piece and the left arm. There are some scratches on the lenses from wear. The left ear piece has some indentations. See pics for all. In good preowned condition.
