Vintage Victor Costa Dress

Gorgeous vintage Victor Costa dress with pleated mermaid/fish scale style ribbon pleating detail at the bust and torso, and ribbon and bow at the waist. This was originally a strapless dress, but it was slightly big on the previous owner so she had a seamstress add straps for her. They are attached to the lining of the dress, and could be removed by a tailor. Some snags and pulls to the ribbon-like fabric, but imo it’s very hard to see when on because if the rich black color. I took some photos in bright direct sunlight so it would be easier to see. Size 4. Laying flat bust is about 16 inches across, though there’s also darting (which provides a bit more room than a flat measurement suggests), and laying flat the waist is about 13 inches across. Length from the top of the pleating detail to the hem is about 36 inches. The dress is fully lined.
