Vintage 1961 Betty Crocker New Picture Cook Book First Edition Fourth Printing Nostalgic Metal Ring Binder I’m sure you remember this cookbook from your mom or grandmother. No one reminds you ….. It’s the writing of the 60’s that will make you gasp,feel a little shocked and laugh 😆 We’ve come a long way! It’s also filled with amazing facts of knowledge that we actually should know. You will spend days reading it since it truly little stories in a cookbook! Condition- You can tell it was stored in a shelf for years because the front and back are very vibrant. BUT it has seen an explosion in the PIE recipe section!!!! I assume it was opened when it occurred. Mostly pages 342, 343, 344 It’s mostly on the tabs and edges of front & back. The first page is not attached but included The last two pages in the Index section are there but not attached (pages 453-455) My advice to salvage the pages is to purchase clear sheet protectors from Staples or Amazon. Binding The front pages is loose, attached,hanging on but not completely torn off. The back is in better condition, not perfect. See photos for condition and zoom in. Photo #1- the book is standing on its own I inherited it from my grandmother and can tell you it was well loved and has good juju. I am no way an expert and only try to describe to the best of my ability. It weighs over 2lbs.
