Smythson Jewelry Box (Leather & Nubuck, Red)

This beautiful jewelry box is from Smythson of Bond Street, a British maker of luxury leather goods. It was purchased at a Smythson store years ago and has been in storage. The exterior is smooth, crossgrain leather (Smythson's signature leather) in bright red. The interior is very soft nubuck in a cream/light beige color. The box opens/closes with a lid that fastens with a metal snap. The interior has a section for rings and 2 general-purpose sections that can be used for earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. The ring section has room for at least 7 rings. The back of the jewelry box says "Smythson of Bond Street" in gold embossed lettering. Fyi, Smythson no longer makes this style of jewelry box. Though it was hardly used, there are subtle signs of wear, including some dark-ish marks on the nubuck interior (probably from silver jewelry), approx. 3 small spots on the exterior where the red dye has worn away (including on the side of the fastening tab), and approx. 4 small depressions (but not discolorations) in the leather -- see close-up photos. Box is approx. 8 inches long x 3.75 inches wide x 1.75 inches high. Ring section is approx. 3.25 inches long x 1.25 inches wide. The section next to the ring section is approx. 4.25 inches long x 1.25 inches wide. The long section below those 2 sections is approx. 7.5 inches long x 1.75 inches wide. Comes with original Smythson gift box in blue. NOTE: The jewelry box has a light perfume scent, I think from its time in storage.
