Vintage Jay Strongwater brooch

An array of pinks, greens and yellows Swarovski crystals make this bird of paradise a statement brooch. 4 inches long 2.5 inches wide (approx). Jay Strongwater no longer creates jewelry. His primary focus is currently on home design. Jay Strongwater designs are created from sketches from which finely detailed clay molds are made. Metal is poured into the mold and hand polished. The mold is covered in layers of 14k gold. A palette of enamel colors are mixed by hand - painted with needles and brushes, heated to a hard - glossy sheen.
