Breyer "Shire" Model # 95, produced 1972 -1973, 1975 - 1976 The Shire mold is # 95, introduced in 1972, sculpted by C. Hess.
Matte finish with dapple grey, bald face, grey nose and ears, dark grey mane and tail. Dark grey knees with white feathers. The "Shire" is a large, powerful draft horse, of a breed originating in central England, having long hair that grows from the knee and hock. This horse has C. Hess above the Breyer logo on her right back leg. She is an oldie, but in excellent shape for her age. Her dappling is lovely.
This model has seen some play time, but is in very good condition. There are some black marks on left side, right rear, and face which are shown in the images. You will need to zoom in to see as they blend in because of the dapple grey coloring. She has some factory overspray, by mostly on her front socks. Small dot discoloration (very hard to see, must look closely to find them) on her right side and a couple on her socks.
There are a few white wear marks and some darker discoloring on the very bottom of the hoofs. Due to these defects, this model has been priced accordingly, but is lovely piece.
Pictures are part of the description, so please zoom in to see an accurate representation of the quality and condition. I have tried to accurately represent the condition but this is a vintage item, sold as is from a smoke Free home.
If you love horses or collect model horses this is a must for your collection.
