"Me not taking him to the vet has nothing to do with his well being" -"rescuer" of Chester. I got care of this dog from a rescuer that didn't have room to keep him and kept him outside, said he was scanned for a chip and didn't have one. His symptoms were so worrying I took him to animal control, only place open that had a vet to deal with him. They found his chip, found his owner and she picked him up one day later, notified of his poor condition. What a weird situation this was!!

bonita_babe what does it mean to be chipped?

sabbrtooth @bonita_babe A chip in an animal is a informational piece of technology usually placed under the skin at the back of the neck. It says the pets name, owners name, number, city last updated to be living in. It's a really useful way to reunite pets with their owners and in this case it worked!

sabbrtooth "Why would anyone return him to his owners?" Well because I had this dog, he was chipped even though it was previously settled he wasn't, he was having medical problems, his owners where contacted and picked him up a day later from the shelter. I'm not allowed to speak with owners or ask them anything so based on how quick they got him I think he's fine. I've had owners not bother to contact shelters back after their pets there!

klosetklearance @vndrgrovnd29 Hi. I feel your passion, believe me, as a dog rescue person we see THEE most horrible things, but the fact thst the owner went to get him back (pd the fines, which are not cheap) speaks volumes. Most ppl lie & say it's not their dog, blah blah blah. There is nothing that makes me suspect his owners of his neglect. Who knows how he got out or how long has been gone from them, right?
