Vintage 60s Christian Dior Chapeaux with Original Box - Bold ‘New Look’ Chapeaux

Vintage late 1950s - early 1960s Christian Dior raffia…cloche? Turban?… A beautiful Chapeaux in neutral cream and light brown. My mother bought this bold “New Look” chapeaux, on layaway, over many months, and she was so thrilled and proud to own and wear this distinctive hat. It is a Statement. The hat is a gathering of draped, striped raffia pulled into a sort of top knot. It sat rather high on the head rather than being pulled down. I’ve yet to see one exactly like this offered for resale anywhere. It’s hard to let it go. But I hope this hat finds someone who appreciates the individuality, fashion expression and workmanship in this vintage Dior Chapeaux New Look creation. Inside label needs reinforcement stitches; otherwise this unique headwear is in near perfect condition. Will ship in its original Christian Dior hat box.
