True vintage fabulous YSL Rive Gauche blouse in deep cranberry/wine jacquard silk. French size 38 (approx US M 6-8). Good vintage condition with classic woven label. This piece is from late 70s to early 80s, the most collected era of Rive Gauche. Elegant drape, textured silk - hard to find! This blouse has a row of buttons that are concealed by a hidden asymmetrical closure. One button is missing towards bottom of the blouse (button before last) but it is neither visible when wearing nor does it impact functionality. I’ve shown this in the final photo w/ a side by side image of the row of buttons exposed and then covered. Some areas around the collar have subtle variations in coloring where the original owner likely had frequent contact with the skin or perhaps some face powder applied to back of the neck. I took pix of this area, though it’s hard to capture in photos with silk. UPDATE: Not until taking video did I notice there’s a thin black line from eye liner or a marker near the right shoulder (when on body). Was hard to see due to the dark blouse color and textured pattern to the silk. See last photo. Rive Gauche history: Launched in 1966, Rive Gauche was the first luxury designer ready-to-wear line. Named after Paris’s Left Bank (younger, artsy, modern), it made YSL wearable off-runway. The Rive Gauche clothing line officially ended in 2002, when YSL folded ready-to-wear into a unified Saint Laurent name. Will be packaged with care from a smoke-free home 🌸
