This is a rare sterling silver Gucci belt created in Italy by the fashion house of Gucci back in the 1970. This iconic belt was crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with polished finish and embellished with applications of green and red hot enamels. Stamped with Italian marks; the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the silver and signed, "GUCCI ITALY “S".
The "S" stamped on Gucci jewelry generally stands for Sterling Silver or specifically denotes "S-Silver" (sterling silver) in product descriptions. It signifies that the piece is crafted from 92.5% pure silver, often aged or oxidized for a vintage look, rather than white gold or platinum.

Gucci doesn’t use an S mark to denote sterling silver on either new or vintage pieces, this would be marked either 925 or sterling. This is likely made of stainless steel.
