mrsmayb @pinkzebra85 hi, it's light weight but really gives enough warmth. I do live in the west coast so I'm not sure if this is east coast material. Probably for a fall/early winter but not peak of winter for east coast, west coast however it's perfect for throughout fall/winter. Hope that helps.
