The likeness is incredible. It is very well made and beautifully rendered, the wings are applied and the feather details are engraved. It is heavy, a little over 30 grams, and best suited for heavier fabrics. The brooch is signed on a soldered metal tag which is found on the reverse. In excellent condition. I believe the dark patina is part of the design. It is in excellent condition. The brooch measures 2 1/8 inches (55mm) tall. From the beak to the end of the tail is 3 1/8 inches.
