bridgenben0801 @shereeellen Yes, it is lab grown beryl (emerald), which is still considered an emerald. An earth mined emerald of this color and clarity would be over $1,000. Beware of any seller that tells you an emerald is natural (unless it’s a bit milky and opaque) that is priced below $500. The majority of all emeralds this size in jewelry below $1000 are lab created. Lab created is still an emerald though. It has the same chemical composition.

shereeellen @bridgenben0801 thank you for the info. I personally like Columbian emeralds, and have a few. Yes, they are much more expensive. As for chemical composition, yes, the same. But, never seen an emerald with the clarity of the lab grown....cute ring...but I am old school. Good luck!!

bridgenben0801 @shereeellen I have a few Colombian Emerald rings at my jewelry store with this beautiful color (they do have minor inclusions), but they are pretty expensive. bridgenben0801 @joannaashfield Is the ring that turned your finger green 925 Sterling Silver or Gold? Or was it a mixed alloy ring? Sterling shouldn’t turn your ginger green, unless you have a metal allergy, the pH in your body is out of whack, or the ring already had some tarnish on it.
