Desert Sunstone Pendant

This is a beautiful Sunstone pendant. Copper wired by hand and antiqued to tone down the bright copper and give it a finish that went with the age I imagined went with the stone. It can be used as a pendant or an ornament or you can use a pin and wear it as a brooch. There are inclusions in natural stone which shows that stones from nature are not perfect. I am a hobbyist in wire wrapping and my prices reflect that, if you have any questions or more photo requests please ask. A theory exists that the sunstone had polarizing attributes and was used as a navigational instrument by seafarers in the Viking Age. A stone found in 2002 off Alderney, in the wreck of a 16th-century warship, may lend evidence of the existence of sunstones as navigational devices.
