essentialmood @natalieann86 I did the best I could for him, he was such an important part of my life, and he still is. During Christmas 2014 we thought we were going to lose him after he stopped being able to walk on his own and he was throwing up everywhere. Every doctor said he didn't have much time left but somehow Milo pulled through.

essentialmood After that scare I basically put my life on hold to just stay home and take care of him almost 24/7, otherwise he might not have made it. My care for him ended up prolonging his life by another year, and I'm so grateful for that!

essentialmood @natalieann86 He stayed strong through it all, even up until his very last day. He was a fighter and despite his many health problems (heart failure, liver failure, arthritis, etc.) he stuck it out because he loved life and loved being with us. There's only so much you can do until the body starts to shut down. He was old and we didn't want to make him suffer for even a minute!

essentialmood @burnsie18 He had heart failure, kidney failure, and he also couldn't walk anymore.. He was already 14 and a half. Our mobile vet came over to see him one morning after I called in to say that he was having trouble breathing and was not eating very much. He told us Milo's condition was very rapidly going to get worse in the next few days, so the best thing we could do for him was put him to sleep before he had the chance to suffer. It was very sad.

mcjayne @arianashallman You are so sweet, I was so struck with how much you loved Milo, this reminded me so much of how I felt about ellè❤️she was only 4, we rescued her last year, a year together just wasn't long enough😰I still keep thinking she's here, it's taken me until now to not put out 3 dog bowls, it's down to 2 now...she had a botched spaying, they didn't tube her correctly. She had pneumonia & heart failure because of it & it just developed as the year progressed.

sassafras19 Ahh, you sweet thing. I wanted to share your furbaby when I read your note. Our babies are family, sometimes closer as I'm sure you told Milo things you would never tell anyone else. They ask for nothing but love. I understand your loss and it never really goes away, but it does change. Grief is the price of love. But we'll gladly grieve for the precious time we had with them. It always seems so short. But since the age of 8, he taught you a great many things. Mostly to ❤️ unconditionally.

It was honestly one of the hardest days of my life!! I literally screamed and cried, without a care, as I watched her fade away in my arms! 😭 She was my child! She was everything!
