Samoa vases named after the unspoilt island paradise in the central Pacific, is a natural development of the designer's constant experiments with glass. Here, Anna allows colored glass to create its own unique patterns in a design of understated simplicity. The vases' fresh colors are those of Samoa itself, with its rain forest, green mountains, volcanoes and sandy beaches. Samoa is available in hibiscus red, lime green, okra, turquoise and blue and features a robust edge that makes the new vases ideal for use in a practical setting. Anna Ehrner joined Kosta Boda in 1974 following graduation from the National College Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Anna creates pieces distinguished by simple, powerful forms and her great skill in using color to create shimmering effects. She has created some of Kosta Boda's most successful and collectible lines. Her work is featured in the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs, Paris.
