Liberty Head Mercury Dime Silver Coin Link Necklace Mercury dimes were a very popular ten-cent piece produced by the United States Mint from 1916 to 1945. These dimes were composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The coin contains a total of just over .072 troy ounces of silver. The obverse (front) of the dime features a depiction of a young Liberty with a winged Phrygian cap, which is often mistakenly associated with the Roman God Mercury This necklace features a 1942 dime set in hexagon shaped alloy piece and is 12” long unmarked chain - coin pendant is approximately 1”. History sidenote - 1916-D. One of the coins struck during the Mercury Dime's inaugural year, 1916, is unquestionably the rarest coin in the set.
