cotx66 @reowningvintage S/P just means small OR petite, which is literally French for small. True petite size lines include a full range of sizes, not just small, and are proportioned for women who are are on the short side, usually 5'4" and under. Typically, the tag will say Petite Small, or Petite 4, Petite Medium, 6 Petite, 8P, 10P, Petite Large, etc.

cotx66 I am 5'4" and have been wearing and shopping for petite clothing for 40 years. I see this mistake on Poshmark all the time, and it is frustrating because it seems so few people are aware of the distinction, and I have to waste time checking photos for size tags to often be disappointed; I've also become familiar with which brands have petite lines or only "missy" or "regular" lines.

cotx66 I find it a little frustrating and ironic because the average American woman is 5'4" tall. Thankfully, more brands now offer petite, regular, and tall sizes, as well as plus sizes, to fit most everyone.

cotx66 Please do not take offense. I'm not frustrated with you. I do wish Poshmark would do something to address the problem, which exists across most resale platforms. Occasionally, I let sellers know that their item is mislabeled. Mislabelled sizing hurts both the buyer and seller.

cotx66 Of course, clothing brands could clear up the confusion going forward by not using the confusing and misleading S/P and Small/Petite size labels.
