I had seen wax prints featuring original iPods and cell phones. When those designs were released, they were reflecting on technology and the future. I thought it would be fun to go in the other direction and make a collection that reflected retro artifacts from my childhood. I thought about the mix tapes I used to make for myself when I was a moody teenager and added labels to some of the tapes in the design. There’s even a pencil in there for when the tape inevitably gets jammed in the cassette player because you played it so much. IYKYK.”
