rabella @hannahcarleton_ close up picture added. But the strap is not ripping at all. The rubbery trim along the side of the strap has peeled, making the strap fray along the edges which makes it look that way. But the strap is completely intact other than the trim. It might look kinda twisty, but that's because that area is the contact point that runs against the actual wallet when your keys are hanging out so its expected to not stay perfect.

rabella @hannahcarleton_ it never gave me any problems. The only issue I had with it was the strap's peeling trim caused by rubbing on the wallet's body. It was super convenient when I wanted to travel light.
