William Oliver “Billy” O’Dell (February 10, 1933 - September 12, 2018) pitched 13 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles (1954, 1956-1959), San Francisco Giants (1960-1964), Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves (1965/1966) and Pittsburgh Pirates (1966-1967). He enjoyed his best season in 1962 winning 19 games in 280.0 innings, leading the Giants to the National League championship. In the 1962 World Series, O’Dell lost Game 1 to Whitey Ford and the New York Yankees. Billy became the bullpen ace later in his career and in 1965 he saved 18 games for the Milwaukee Braves. Billy O’Dell compiled a 105-100 record with 63 complete games, 1,133 strikeouts and a 3.29 ERA.
