VTG CROWN TRIFARI Brooch GEMS OF THE SEA Modified Shell Rhinestone BOOK PIECE

This is the beautiful signed Crown Trifari modified shell brooch featuring a gold-plated swirl and ruffle sea shell design accented with many rhinestones from the “Gems of the Sea” collection. Other versions of this piece were produced; but the rhinestone accented one is a rarer find. It marks a time when oceanography became an important science topic and was featured prominently in fine jewelry. This piece appears on page 121 of THE STORY OF TRIFARI book by Maureen Brodsky. Measures 1 3/4" in length, 1 5/8" in width and 5/8" in depth. In excellent vintage condition. A piece of history you will want to add to your vintage collection.
