Vintage COACH Crescent Bonnie Cashin Saddle Bag NYC 9235 Serial No Black Leather

This fabulous Vintage COACH Bonnie Cashin Crescent Saddle Bag with a serial number, pre style number 9235, was made in New York City, sometime in the 70’s or 80’s. I bought this Crescent for myself a long time ago & had it restored by a saddler. When I purchased it, it had damage to the edging in a few places along the flap, on the top edging between the buckles, and on the strap. It was likely stored hanging on a hook, damaging the strap. To keep this original, I did not want the edging replaced, just preserved. The previous owner also used shoe polish, the saddler had to strip that off the leather, residue remains on the suede flap.. I am letting this go, because I don’t use it. Made of black glovetanned leather and solid brass hardware, this measures approximately 9 1/2” high, 10 1/4” at it’s widest, 8” at it’s most narrow, and 3” deep. For shoulder or crossbody wear, the shoulder strap measures a 16 1/2” drop as shown. The iconic solid brass turnlock opens to large unlined suede interior with a large slip pocket on the back side the size of the purse. The suede interior is clean and soft but, bottom is not very soft due to use. Please see all photos for condition. Stored in a display box, just brushed the interior, conditioned with leather CPR.
