Crafted on the 73 last with a classic rounded toe which stands the test of time: a staple since 1945, the Diplomat offers the formality of a classic oxford with a decorative half-brogue finish. Attributing its namesake to the ambassadors and politicians who historically wore it abroad, the Diplomat is a timeless piece of crafted history which boasts a motif to the toe cap and typical brogueing and gimping to the facings and quarter. A natural finish is achieved using waxes, applied by hand, to gradually build up shading and enhance the innate beauty of the calf leather. Made in Northampton, UK. Prada purchased the company in 1999. How we know these are true vintage: Half linen / half leather lining. Uppers are in excellent vintage condition with a bit of wear shown at the left toe box. Slight wrinkling of the tongue at left shoe. Soles show moderate wear but can be worn exactly as is and resoled for decades of more wear later on.
