Striking vintage cast iron Jizō statue made in Japan and imported by Kotobuki, San Francisco. Jizō Bosatsu (Ksitigarbha) is a beloved bodhisattva in Japanese Buddhism, known as protector of children, travelers, and the departed. Statue measures about 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 1lb. 4oz. Aged to a deep green/black patina, it retains the original Kotobuki label on the base. An authentic piece for collectors of Buddhist art, Japanese décor, or vintage Kotobuki imports.
Please note: Photos were taken in different lighting conditions. In natural sunlight, the green patina is more visible appearing lighter, while under indoor lighting the statue presents the darker tone. Actual color and patina may vary slightly depending on your lighting environment and placement in your home.
Pre-owned in excellent condition showing a natural patina consistent with age. Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
