Vintage Pierre Cardin maxi multi psychadelic dress

Stunning example of 70s couture! Excellent condition. No size listed but measures as a size small (has some stretch) Bust 17” stretches to 20" Waist 16” stretches to 18” As quoted by owner of vintage specialty shop Shrimpton Couture: "[This unusual dress] really shows the depths of [Cardin's] talent as a designer. [This dress] is intricate and complicated and yet it oozes luxurious simplicity and chicness. The multi-color pattern is worked right onto the knit and the way it is woven leaves little gaps between the weave where you can see skin peek through. It's sexy but not overtly, rather the closer you get to the girl wearing it the sexier it becomes. I love the high neckline and how that is balanced by those fabulous sleeves! Cut slim through the upper arm and the shoulder, they balloon out just above each wrist. The weave changes just below the bust so the waist is accented despite not being fitted and the skirt is a marvel of flat pleats that open to give volume when you move. The metallic thread running through the knit makes the entire thing glimmer in the light. Love it!  Excellent, appears unworn condition."
