Stunning 1950s Lilli Ann taupe dinner/cocktail suit w/ faceted set rhinestone button & bound buttonhole front. Fascinating textural chevron fabric. Unique tricorn sleeve treatment. Rare & priceless fully lined peplum shelf jacket w/ subtle stiffening maintains shape of flare over hip. Standing collar lapel neckline. Padded shoulders. Skirt side zip with button and kick pleat back. Half lined in back. Purchased form original owner, prominent society wife in Houston. Exceptional example of New Look Era American glamour. Union made. Fabric label not present. Jacket: Bust: 34/35” Waist: 28” Length: 25” from shoulder Skirt: Waist: 26” Hip: 34/35” Length: 30 ¼” Jacket inner stains under arms but not the exterior. Might be occasional small staining, but none that I can see. One point of tricorn sleeve needs tacking (not necessary but worth mentioning). I do not dry clean vintage garments due to unreliability of cleaners. These items are couture quality craftsmanship with hand stitching details, often brass mountings for buttons, etc. Alcohol can be lightly sprayed on interior if needed. I emphasize lightly. Many of my vintage pieces are not new, some up to 80 years old. These are part of my cherished collection stored in a moisture controlled cedar closet.
