Each pair comes with a protective case. I am a hairdresser and have been using the rainbow shears for about 3 years now. I’d say they are the best shears I’ve had in my 30+ years of cutting hair. My mother in law had bought them from him, (he is her stylist)and she was selling them to Beauty shops here in San Antonio and has since stopped doing that business. These are what is leftover from her inventory.

robbinrlang @laurapimentel3 I’d say they are equal as far as quality, and all the same size, so, all would work well for beginners. They are good quality shears, which makes a difference in the quality of the haircut.

robbinrlang Much easier to do a nice haircut when your shears are sharp, they cut smooth and clean, no bending the hair when you close the blades. One thing to note is if you are wanting a matching set(shears and thinning shears) then the rainbow and the cheetah are your only choices. But, you can mix and match if you’d like. For instance, you could get the black shears and the cheetah thinning shears. Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any more questions.

robbinrlang @laurapimentel3 by lol, oh sorry, when you said beginner I thought you meant a newly trained hairdresser. That was probably way more info than what you needed if you are just doing an at home cut. You definitely do not need thinning shears in your case. Any of the shears would work fine for your needs. Funny, just a couple hours ago, someone else bought a pair to do a home haircut on their boyfriend. Desperate times I guess😂🤣

adina_eaton How big are these? I cut my husband’s hair with clippers and some terrible shears the other day - he has thick hair but I just cut into it to thin it - not a stylist but a fiber artist/sculptor so it helps a little - he has super thick top- did a fade on the sides. Need to trim bangs and do haircuts for my toddlers next. What do you recommend.

robbinrlang @adina_eaton the shears are all 6 inches. Any of them would work well for your purpose, they are very precise and sharp. As far as the silver ones go, I know someone who has carpel tunnel and they work great for her and help with her pain. I personally have never used them because I don’t have any issues with my hands. I have been using the rainbow ones for several years on a daily basis and I love them. Hope this helps?! Let me know if you have any other questions.

robbinrlang @kbrewer123 they are pretty similar, both are 6” shears. Only real difference is that the cheetah shear has a tension knob that you can just adjust tension with.
