Dear Sue and Daisy, Wow! What a gorgeous vintage horse statue! I adore it! I have already set it up in my bedroom where I can see it every day first thing in the morning! The horse is magnificent and beautifully designed. It looks so realistic and majestic! Whoever designed and made it really knew horses because this horse and its confirmation are stunning! I have loved horses all of my life! As a young girl, I owned and rode two three-gated American Saddlebred horses, a chestnut gelding and a chestnut mare. I showed the mare in three-gated equitation events at horse shows. The gelding was a wonderful three-gated pleasure horse used just for riding. Thank you for listing the horse on Poshmark which enabled me to purchase it. I knew that I had to own it as soon as I saw it! Do you know what it’s made of, perhaps bronze or brass? I wonder if it could be polished, or should I leave it as it is with its vintage patina. I have heard that the patina on vintage pieces should remain on them. However, I am no expert. Thank you for everything, including your lovely thank you card with the beautiful fruit design with the lovely peach, pink, and brown colors on the front and your thoughtful and gracious note on the back. I also want to thank you for wrapping the horse beautifully, snugly, securely, and professionally with the lovely white ribbon when you mailed it to me. I appreciate your care and thoughtfulness. Is this a famous horse? Do you know this horse statue’s background? How did you obtain it? I am just curious! Finally, I want to add that I am originally from Illinois. I was born in Chicago and grew up in Evanston. I worked in the Loop years ago. I moved to Maryland from Chicago just a little over 30 years ago as part of a job transfer to work in Washington, DC.
