britmoe @tomi_o Thanks for the update! Does that restriction apply to giving a free gift with a certain dollar amount purchase? I always throw in samples I have collected forever when I package an item, so I just made it an "official" incentive and added a "top" bonus for purchases over $100 as a way to move some boutique bracelets I invested in and haven't sold any of. 😩 Hope this makes sense. Don't want to break any rules!

tomi_o @lizpink13 hey there! Thanks for your sweet words! In order to tag someone make sure you use the "@" symbol in front of their name that way they will for sure get the message. And unfortunately inspired items are not allowed. I looked it up in their policy for you and if you want to check it out as well click your name at the bottom of the app and then click on posh etiquette, scroll down and you'll see it somewhere on that page. I hope that helps!

ppamprrd Here goes...so all the likes for the follow games and posh parties are ending up mixed in with all my clothing likes on posh. At what point are deleting the likes on the follow games? I guess the parties just get deleted after the date. Hope that I don't sound to confusing 🤗😍😄

tomi_o @ppamprrd that wasn't confusing! I get what you're saying cause I too have debated un-liking follow games so that I can cut down on the likes. Well for parties like you said just unlike them after the party date but for follow games that is at your own discretion.

tomi_o @ppamprrd Usually when a follow game gets 600 likes then no one else can like it which is another good time to un-like the post. But other than that you can just un-like it whenever you want to, you just won't get the followers that come afterwards. I hope that helps!

And oh I guess you could use the bundle option but some people don't put their follow games for sale....maybe if the follow game has very high likes then you could un-like it especially if it's close to 600....but I'm not sure if that will help much. I'm sorry I'm not much of a help! I've had the same debate that you are having!

That's odd that she blocked you....this hasn't happen to me in this way but a way to get in contact with them is by using another person to contact them for you....which might be a little bit odd so I don't know if you really want to go down that route.

tracyknudsen @tomi_o o I Posh all day long and before bed. It's so much fun. My closet is getting sales several times a week. In fact the post office ladies are like AGAIN?? and they congratulate me. How can I move to the next level on PM and become a suggested user and get host picks and possibly host a party myself? I am constantly adding new things to my closet and want to just keep Poshing more and more. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you in advance. 😊

tomi_o @tracyknudsen hey there!!!! So for becoming a suggested user and hosting a party you have to email Poshmark and ask them. If you visit their blog....blog.poshmark.com, it will have the criteria for each and if you meet the criteria then you can email them asking to check your closet to be a suggested user and to host a party.

tomi_o @tracyknudsen They have two different email addresses for that though so make sure you check it out on their blog. Now to get a host pick....I'll be tagging people in listings on this app that say "I'm hosting on party" once I tag you in it go in yourself and tell the host congrats and ask them to check out your closet. Each time you do that is a step closer to receiving a host pick! I hope that was helpful and good job selling your items! 👏🏾

tomi_o @rubaruba7 Once you download the app you can create a listing by changing the background, adding words, etc....then when you're done it gives you an option to save the photo to your photo library. Do that and then you can upload it to Poshmark! I hope that helps! 😊

openbutton @tomi_o Hi Tomi, I was wondering how you check for Posh Compliant closets. I try to follow those that follow me but it becomes a bit overwhelming to search through each closet. Also, when I reciprocate shares I don't necessarily search their entire closet. Is there an easier way?

tomi_o @gobuyshoes hey there! The only way to check if a closet is posh compliant is by going through all of their listing. I only do it if they ask to be apart of my tag lists, but if not then I just follow as many people as possible whether they are posh compliant or not. However if they are very non posh compliant I just won't share from their closet.

tomi_o @gobuyshoes As for the shares, it's fine to just share a few items. Depending on how much time I have I tend to share between 1-5 items or sometimes more. But their isn't much of an easier way to share, you still have to click on each item and share each individually.

tomi_o @goldengirlz752 hey there! So in order to be a suggested user you have to send an email to Poshmark and ask them to review your closet. There are a few criteria that you have to fall under. This is the link to their blog and it will explain everything to you in detailed. You can use this link https://blog.poshmark.com/2014/08/10/posh-tip-how-to-become-a-suggested-user/ or just go to blog.poshmark.com and search for suggested user! I hope this helps! 😊

tomi_o @monkey4man hey there! you technically don't have put @ when it's on someone's listing but people do it all the time just to make sure that the person received the message. So it's a safe practice to put the @ sign so that you know that the person received the message. Now with the new update all you really need to do it click reply and it will bring up the @ sign and the persons name already! Hope that helps 😊

christinemart1n Can I ask your advice? I poured over the Poshmark guidelines, and I didn't see any statement prohibiting the sale of "household items" - just electronics and perfumes and used makeup. But then I looked at one of your posts, and it said that household items were prohibited. I've sold a coffee mug and a Lilly ornament set. Will those two sales prohibit me from becoming a suggested user? I put in a request about 3 months ago and haven't heard anything. I'd love to hear your response.

tomi_o @christinemart1n hey there! So to answer your question....unfortunately the mug and the ornament set aren't technically allowed on Poshmark since they may fall under home good items. It's sometimes hard to find a list of items that are not allowed on Poshmark. However you can click on your name at the bottom of this app, scroll down and click on Poshmark support center.

tomi_o @christinemart1n Then click on community guidelines and scroll down to where it says "What Poshmark is not used for" and click on "prohibited item policy" and from there it will tell you in more detail what is not allowed and it will say home good items are prohibited.

tomi_o @christinemart1n Also you can check out their blog at blog.poshmark.com and that will give you more information as well. So since you have already sold those two items then you should delete them from your closet and then wait one more month to hear back about being a suggested user cause sometimes it can take up to 4 months.

So for example, I have a tag list (located if you scroll down in my closet) that people can ask to join. It includes follow games, sales, parties, welcoming people, and other things not listed.

So when I find a sale or follow game I will tag the people who are in that lists to receive those notifications. So when I tag them in follow games, they participate in the follow game which will help them gain more followers. When I tag them in sales, it will help them find good deals. When I tag them in party listing it will help them get a chance to receive a host pick.

I tend to do it every time I remember which can end up being about 5 or more times a day, especially if I have a day that Im off work and can actually be on Poshmark for a very long time. If you happen to be on Poshmark for a long time during the day then share every hour that you're on.

tomi_o @kellysmemories2 glad to help! 😊 and some people let it be random (like I do) but I've seen a lot of people organize it by categories...so they group tops together, dresses, shoes, etc. I do like that way to and might end up changing my closet to be grouped by category but I haven't decided yet. Oh and when they group it by category they have a listing next to it that says shoes and then they list all their shoes, then one that says tops and the they list all their tops....you get the idea. 😊

tomi_o @beachsoul2 hey there! Welcome to Poshmark! To answer your question, the offer button should already appear on every listing you open. For example, if you click on one of my listings that are for sale and look to where it says buy now at the bottom right next to it it should say "offer" from there you click on that and put in the amount you want to offer someone. So that button will always be next to the buy now button! I hope that helps 😊

It might have gotten lost in their news feed. Sometimes when people get a lot of notifications they can sometimes miss it. But whenever you put the @ symbol it should send that message directly to the person 😊

tomi_o @beachsoul2 ohhh yeah you can't see it in your own closet but when I went to your closet to check, the offer button is there! 😊 and the only way to favorite someone's closet is by liking one of their listings so that it is saved in your likes. For example, if you wanted to like this listing so that you can easily find it again if you need to ask me a questions or refer to it then you can do that and it will show up in your likes.

tomi_o @urbeauty1 yeah that happens sometimes. They might forget to accept it or they haven't logged in to Poshmark for a while so they haven't gotten around to it. However, if they don't accept the item then after three days from the day they received it, you will receive your money.

tomi_o @sfbrickhouse hey there! So to rearrange your closet you have to share your items. The order you share your items will rearrange the order in your closet. So if you want all the shoes together, then share each of your shoes items and they will be next to each other. Then if you share all your tops next then it will show up towards the top of the page in front of the shoes.

So to answer your questions, yes you can get a host pick during the day parties except at the first party of the day which is at 9am PST/12pm EST. any other parties after those times you can get a host pick. So if the second party of the day is best in tops it's possible for the host to pick your outfit for their host pick!

tomi_o @ribbitkids hey there! So sometimes it is an accident when people click the "add to bundle" button. Usually they meant to click share but their finger slipped and they clicked the wrong button (it happens to me sometimes) and when they click the add to bundle button it sends you a notification. So they way to know if they are actually wanting to buy more than one item is if they click the "add to bundle" button on two items or more.

tomi_o @ribbitkids In that case they are usually wanting to buy two or more items so that they can receive a bundle discount. So if they wanted to make a purchase then they would click the add to bundle button on two or more items and then click purchase or offer and it will notify you. So you don't have to ask them if they are wanting to purchase a bundle cause sometimes it's an accident or if they are a serious buyer then they will contact you or just purchase the bundle. Sometimes the host doesn't send a message to say that they have chosen your item for host pick instead they just share it to the party and then people start to congratulate you! But if it was in the host pick section then yes you got a host pick! Congrats! 😊👏🏾

You have to fall under a certain criteria and then if you do you can email Poshmark and ask for them to review your closet! Check out their blog cause it will explain everything in more detail! tomi_o @pwlo hey there! To become a suggested user you have to email Poshmark to let them know you want them to review your closet. However, you must fall under a certain criteria to be eligible. The steps to how to be a suggested user is on their blog "blog.poshmark.com" go to their blog and search how to be a suggested user and it will bring up all the information you need! Well to make a tag list you first need to ask people if they want to be apart of your tag lists (I have a listing at the bottom of my closet that can help you understand it more) so once people say they want to be in your tag list you copy and paste their username and save it on the notes app on your phone

tomi_o @margitscloset hey there! They are able to use those pictures because they purchased an item from wholesale on Poshmark to sell as their own. Once you do that it is labeled "boutique" on your items and you can use the pictures that come with the items you purchased. And sometimes people find the picture online and then use it here, but you have to be careful because of copyright issues. I hope that helps!

tomi_o @margitscloset it helps to share a lot and follow a lot of people! I tend to follow a lot of people and then when they follow me back I share from their closets. That is the main way to sell more. Also another trick is to utilize the price drop notifications.

tomi_o @margitscloset The best way to do this is to wait until an item of yours has a lot of likes and then drop the price by 10% and it will notify everyone that has liked it and gives them discounted shipping for one hour. So those price drop notifications help a lot, but share a lot and follow a lot of people and you will see more sales! 😊

I use pic collage more cause that's the one I'm more familiar with. tomi_o @margitscloset hey there! So when someone drops a price of their outfit by 10% it will notify everyone that liked it that they dropped the price and shipping has been discounted for one hour. So when you receive that email check the time of the email to ensure that it is within one hour from the time you saw the email to the time the email was sent.

Now, for your own closet the best thing to do is wait until an item of yours has a lot of likes (more than 10 or so) and then drop the price by 10% that way it will notify people that you dropped the price and it will also help increase sales,

tomi_o @jawilliams8715 hey there! Sorry for the delayed response, I was at work! So to answer your questions it is easy to separate your fall clothes from your summer clothes. The way to do it is by sharing your items in the order you want them to appear on your page.

tomi_o @jawilliams8715 So for example, if you want summer clothes to appear at the top you would share all your fall clothes each individually first and then share your summer clothes last so that it will be at the top. In addition, the same goes when you want to separate your sold items from your for sale items. You'll need to share your sold items first and the share your for sale items last so that they appear at the top.

tomi_o @jawilliams8715 So what I do is that any time I get a sold item I would just share that recently sold item and then share my entire closet so that the recently sold item appears at the bottom with all the other sold items. Lastly, The last item you share from your closet will always appear at the top and if you don't share an item it will appear at the bottom. I hope that helps! 😊

That way the recently sold item goes to the bottom and you shared your closet again. It helps to share your closet multiple times a day so that you can get more sales! 😊

In addition, what you can do is contact Poshmark support through the app and ask for their advice I'm sure they know exactly what to do. Or you can go ahead and send the two dresses and write a note to the lady and explain what happened and that you'll refund the money or send a new dress for her.

I will answer your questions in order: first, the seller of the item you want may not be responding because she is probably no longer on poshmark and may have forgot to delete her account. So if you have been trying to contact her through the app that is the only way to get ahold of her but if she is not responding then it's safe to not purchase the item until she responds.

tomi_o @jeaneparadis now for lowball offers...those bother me too! It is very frustrating when you have an item priced at $25 or so and someone offers $5...so I understand the frustration. What I have been doing about it is counteroffering. So if they offer $5, I will counter with $23 or $20 instead of declining. This will help you know how serious a buyer is. It doesn't hurt to counteroffer because you never know what they might say.

tomi_o @jeaneparadis and lastly, about the shares. You can stop sharing from people's closets at anytime and move on and they will not be offended. There are over thousands of closets on poshmark that can be shared and so once you've shared an amount you want to from someone closet just move on and share from someone else. If they share from your closet you can share back if you want and then go on to the next closet.

I think it's a one week waiting period but I'm not 100% sure about that. But I know they will give discounted shipping after you wait for some time

In my own experience, before I started pharmacy school I would spend several hours (usually not all at the same time but spread out throughout the day) and I would follow and share a lot and would see a decent amount of sales.

So my advice is to keep sharing and follow a lot more people and put in as much time as your schedule allows. You don’t need to be on it every hour but if you have the time then go ahead. I would follow a lot of people and then when they followed me back I would share one or two items from their closets that way they were usually still on poshmark and will get the notification that I shared their items and they may share from mine too or make a purchase. You can do it however you want to do as long as you keep following as many people as you can and sharing from their closets!

highlyorganized Hi, Im very new on Poshmark. I actually stumbled across the site in lieu of needed to sell a purse. Now I can see the wonderful value this site has to offer. I've uploaded some of my closet recently and barely starting to understand the in and outs of the site. The best way to increase your chances with selling and promoting your closet is by following and sharing a lot on the app. The more you follow people on the app and share from their closet the more they will visit your closet and share your items which will help you get more sales. Also you have great pictures already which is a good thing that helps your items sell fast.

tomi_o @highlyorganized there are a few ways to get more inventory such as asking friends and family for clothes that they longer wear (i do that a lot) or buying clothes from somewhere and reselling it. Or you can open a boutique on Poshmark. When you open a boutique you purchase wholesale items from Poshmark (they have a page of just wholesale items) and sell those in your closet.

I got to keep a lot of inventory that was actually not damaged at all and started listing each item. I was listening below 63% of the actual cost and it’s brand new merchandise this season and people would actually want it for $10.00 and it originally cost retail $89 so I just won’t take their offer.

tomi_o @kimskloset3867 Hi Kim! Most people use the boutique through poshmark and have been really successful from it. Some people just use clothes from their own closets or buy it somewhere else and mark up the price. I don’t have a boutique on here yet but I’m thinking of opening one soon.

Click your name at the bottom of the app, scroll down to where it says Poshmark support and then click “contact Poshmark support” and you’ll be able to send them a message. Hope that helps. tomi_o @livvie0205 hey there! Poshmark may take some time to respond because they receive a lot of emails. However once they respond they will let you know what to do. For now, contact the person who purchased the item if you can and let them know the situation. Chances are they can take the package back to the post office and just tell them to return to sender without paying anything.

tomi_o @jett1965 hi there!! Unfortunately you can’t share your entire closet at one time to your followers. You have to share each individual item at a time. As long as you click share on your item and then click my followers, It will share to your followers on poshmark. Also each time you edit your listing it will automatically share it to your followers. Hope that helps! 😊

tomi_o @jett1965 it does take a while to list your items but your listing look great! You have wonderful pictures and as long as you’re descriptive in your listing it helps people purchase immediately. There really is no faster way to list so you’re doing just fine. A suggestion would be to lay your items flat and measure it from armpit to armpit and list the inches on your listing as the pit to pit measurement.

For your Harley shirts it’s great that you have a close up picture on the main graphic for the first picture! For the second or third picture try adding a picture of the front and back of the shirt on a hanger. Look at my listings for an example. It just helps sometimes to see the whole shirt.

tomi_o Also, if you list more items later on that are not Harley’s shirt, like the hats or boots that you listed then add a background or take the picture of the item next to your motorcycle or something just to make it more eye-catching. As you start to look at more closets you’ll pick up ideas on different background styles.

bigharleydog2 Oh, I think the two biggest things are having people understand everything I’m posting is vintage & my descriptions of condition are conservative-actually better than described. I’ve made a few sales & the one bundle sale rated me 5*’s which I was pretty happy about. Just need a few more sales & reviews to build my credibility of quality.

Yeah, it’s good to be very specific on your listing which you are since you mentioned that it’s vintage and the condition of your clothes. If you have female clothing than you’ll need to put the pit to pit measurement which I’ll explain to you later if it applies. You don’t really need to mention the pit to pit measurements for guy clothing though (since sizing is so much easier).

As you look at other people’s closets you’ll get a good idea of what you like and could do for your items. However, you’re pictures are clear and in good lighting, so that’s good!
